The viewpoint in O Cruceiriño, offers amazing views of the valley and the meanders of the Miño River as it flows through the place of Filgueira, as well as of the towns of Cortegada and Padrenda, in the province of Ourense. Due to the blockage of water in the damb of Frieira, the flow of the river is unsteady, and so it is particularly beautiful. The area is surrounded by a natural environment where eucalyptus trees are the most abundant tree species.
If you visit the area in the beginning of August, you can also go to the place of Filgueira and enjoy the festival held in honour of Saint Peter and of Our Lady of the Rosary. If you have enough time, you can also visit the San Pedro de Crecente Church, an old collegiate church built on the remains of a Templar monastery which disappeared in the 15th century.
The lovers of good food can also buy some local products in the market of Crecente or taste some local wines in the wineries of Morgadío or Vilarvín. The fact that the vineyards in this area are grown in terraces over the Miño River make its wine special.
