During the summer, the beaches in O Grove are a must-visit in the coast of the province of Pontevedra, in the words of those who know well the region. If you want to see its beauty from the heights, you can visit the viewpoint A Siradella, the highest area in O Grove Peninsula and the best spot to admire the Ría de Arousa and the Atlantic Ocean.
A Siradella Hill, 166 metres high, enjoys amazing views of unique places as the Atlantic islands, the coastal towns of O Grove and Sanxenxo, and A Lanzada Beach, a wide intertidal area known as Intertidal Complex Umia-O Grove, having a rich and diverse sea wildlife.
Nature and seafood
At the hilltop there is a nature interpretation centre, with display panels, pictures, bones of sea creatures and scale models which help you understand nature and the way a batea (a floating structure used to harvest mussels) works, for example. In the surroundings, there is a recreation area having picnic tables and a playground.
Those who want to round off the visit with a unique food experience, in October it is held in O Grove the popular Festa do Marisco (the seafood festival), included in the list of Festivals of National Tourist Interest. There, two of the most important assets in this region are combined: tourism and food.
