Features
Native aquatic flora and fauna Water vegetation is the most common. It includes the broad-leaved pondweed, water lilies (permanently under water), bulrush and rushes. There are many invertebrates like molluscs and crustaceans, and vertebrates like several fish species. The most common amphibians are the gold-striped salamander and the Iberian spadefoot toad.Native terrestrial flora and fauna There are not many trees in this area. A large number of birds use it for foraging or reproductive purposes. Among them are resident and migratory birds, like the heron, widgeon, shoveler, mallard, common moorhen and common coot.
