Panxón (San Xoán)NigránPontevedra
Monteferro is a spit of land and rock that stretches as far as 1.5 km into the sea, with an elevation of up to 150 metres. The viewpoint of Monteferro offers the best views over Vigo, Baiona and Nigrán.
The spot is surrounded by a dense pine forest with different paths to enjoy the area.
At the top of the hill you will find the Monumento á Mariña Universal, a monument dedicated to sea martyrs, boasting a statue of the Virgin of Mount Carmel, patron saint of seafarers.
The north side of the mountain was a strategic military enclave where there are still remnants of war, such as heavy artillery cannons.
