Danza y Contradanza de Darbo
This historical dance is performed after the religious services and the procession around the church of Saint Mary, the patroness of Darbo. Having been passed down over the centuries, it is considered one of the oldest dances of Galicia. It began as a sign of appreciation to the Virgin for the favours she granted during the year and it dates to the 16th century, when it was performed by the nobility. Today it is one of the most well-known and impressive dances of the region.
