Guided tours of the Soutomaior Castle and its International Camellia Garden of Excellence
The Deputación de Pontevedra organises guided tours of the Soutomaior Castle and its International Camellia Garden of Excellence that will start on Tuesday, February 4, during the camellia blooming season. Tours, guided by an expert, will be available every Tuesday and Thursday at 12.00 and 4.00 pm. Groups will be limited to a maximum of 25 people and tickets can be booked at the castle’s website.
This initiative will take place during the months of February and March. Thanks to the information provided by the tour guide, visitors will get to know the history of this flower that came from the East three centuries ago, as well as the several varieties that adorn the parks and gardens of the whole province of Pontevedra in spring and winter.
The morning tour focuses solely on the castle’s gardens and its 500 hundred camellia specimens, and its duration is approximately 1 hour. Whereas, the afternoon tour includes a visit to the interior of the castle and it takes around 90 minutes.
