Fiesta del Carneiro ó espeto
The origin of this festival goes back to one neighbour cooking on the bank of the Umia River. It became a regular event and eventually the most important food festival in town. It takes place in the unique oak grove of Santa Lucía, where lambs are roasted slowly over an oak-wood fire, and other typical products from the region are also present. Group bookings are offered to groups of 20 people or more.

Features
Origin and history It dates back to the twenties, when someone from Moraña was cooking different country-style meals on the bank of the Umia River, including Argentinian-style lamb. People found it so exceptional that it became a regular dish in all the different events in Moraña, which motivated the people in charge of the Youth Festival and the Council to organise a food festival based on the success of carneiro ao espeto (‘skewered lamb’). Over the years it became one of the most important festivals in town. Responsible body Council of Moraña, Festival Committee of Santa Lucía- Descripción del entorno: Rural
