Plaza de la Herrería
Pza. de La Herrería36002 PontevedraPontevedra
Together with the Iglesia (Church) de la Peregrina, the Plaza de la Herrería en Pontevedra is one of the most typical, visited and loved imprints of Pontevedra, and is the nerve centre of the old city. From the square you can see locals go about their daily business; it is usually full of children and has some of the best terraces in the city. Alongside is the small Plaza de A Estrella, where there is currently a large terrace, the Casa das Caras and the gardens of Castro Sampedro, with the Fuente (Font) de la Herrería, from the 16th century, and which was first located in the middle of the square that gives it its name, but which was moved to its current location in 1930. You can also see the Convent of St Francis
