This protected area covers the estuary of the Miñor River, which is nearly closed by the over 1-km long beach of A Ladeira. This coastal section is subject to intense pressure from human activity, such as shellfishing and tourism. It is the location of the marshes of A Foz, where the tides of the Miñor and the small rivers of Groba and Belesar converge. The observatory of Sabarís has large windows and telescopes for watching the diverse fauna of the marshland.
