Fuente Termal de Gándara

In 1908, Enrique Peinador ordered the construction of a dome over the Gándara Fountain, which was built by architect Antonio Palacios. It consists of an elegant and beautiful cast iron pavilion covering the fountain. It is square shaped and has four open semi-circular bodies supported by granite classical columns and decorative capitals.

Historical references The fountain of Gándara was found in 1872 by doctor and surgeon Sabino Enrique Peinador Vela (1847-1917). It was declared of public utility in 1873, and Ramón Peinador applied to open the mineral water establishment in Chan de Gándara on 22 January of the same year, which was approved on 16 June.Responsible body Council of Mondariz-Balneario
