The weather in this area

Although Benedictine monks from the Monastery of Carboeiro were already using the medicinal mineral waters of Brea in the 11th century, they did not became famous until the late 19th century. The spa was built in the 20th century and a spa hotel opened in 1991. Its 28°C waters are alkaline and rich in sulphur, sodium chloride and bicarbonate.
