O Grove
This chapel in the Island of A Toxa dates from the 12th century, although it was rebuilt and covered with scallop shells. It has a cruciform plan and a single nave. At first it was dedicated to Saint Sebastian, but after restorations it changed to the Virgin of Mount Carmel. Saint Caralampaio, a martyr from the 3rd century, is also worshipped in this chapel. He is the patron saint of skin diseases, which is the reason this island with healing hot springs and spas was used. People have been visiting this church to ask the saint for protection for centuries.
