Alejandro de la Sota Martínez, one of the best Spanish architects of the 20th century, designed this house for a large family in his hometown.
Its two purposes are drastically separated: one part underground seeking silence, with the bedrooms. The other, upstairs and seeking light and views, with the living room, the dining room and the kitchen. Between them there is a hall area and a terrace that opens up to the house’s piece of land.
It is interpreted as a biological metaphor of the course of life.
