Built in 1852 under the direction of engineer Celedonio de Uribe, this lighthouse was first lit on 19 October 1853 and manned by lighthouse keepers until it was automated in the early 20th century. It was restored several times and it has now been converted into a charming restaurant. This lighthouse offers stunning views of the north side of the ría (‘estuary’) of Arousa. Additionally, there is a sundial carved on one of the many large rocks nearby, known as cons in A Illa de Arousa.
