In Petan "la Virgen del Perpetuo Socorro" (theVirgin of Perpetual Help), better known as the Virgin of Gundian, is adored.Tribute is also paid to "la Virgen de los Remedios" (Our Lady of Remedies). At the end of August, a pilgrimage is celebrated in which the two virgins are paraded. They are decorated with bills and gold offered by the devotees. They are also offered different products like eggs, chicken, hens, wheat, rams and different pieces of pig meat. At mid-day, the pilgrims gather to eat at an oak grove situated next to the chapel of Gundian.
