This viewpoint is located in Monte da Pastora, a hill named after the chapel built in the north area to honour the Divine Shepherdess. It is located on the top of the rock commonly known as Pedra do Calvario, which boasts a stone cross from the 1950s. In addition, there is a playground and a recreational area known as Parque de María Castaña. It offers views of the Ría de Arousa estuary, with A Illa de Arousa in the north and Illa da Toxa in the south, as well as the Umia river, the ruins of Santa Mariña and the San Sadurniño tower. Legend has it that the devil, wanting to tempt Christ, looked towards the horizon and told him: “If you kneel before me and worship me, I will give you everything you see, except for Fefiñáns, Cambados and Santo Tomé”.
