This astronomical observatory is run by the FC3 (standing for ‘Sky, Science and Culture Foundation’ in Galician) for scientific, educational and informational purposes. A planetarium attached to the building is planned to be incorporated in the future.
The observatory has two floors. The top floor has a 5-metre diameter dome and a 51 cm diameter Ritchey-Chrétien telescope. The ground floor is where the control room of the telescope is located. The observatory is in an area of very low light pollution, so it provides 360° visibility.
