Like other similar buildings in the region, the pazo de Cervellón acquired great prominence during the fights against the French. It served as a place to supply food and ammunition to the countrymen who defended their territory in the historic battle fought at the bridge of As Achas, as well as the headquarters of the troops that guarded the passage from the Miño to the Paradanta. Due to its location, remains of walls and embrasures, there is no doubt that it was a building with great qualities for defence duties that we see today as a robust rectangular house, the final result of a reconstruction carried out at the end of the 16th century. Next to the house, forming an angle with it, there is a chapel that, due to its dimensions, shows us its former importance. It is currently used as a wine cellar. The remnants right next to the building betray the modifications and mutilations to which it was subjected in successive stages that even affected its shape, which could very well have been in "U" or even a building closed on itself with an internal courtyard. The emplacement and comforts of the house gathered enough attraction so that its owners, far from wartime, made it an ideal place for recreation and rest from where you can admire the valley of As Achas in all its greatness
