Located in an area of Pontevedra replete with monuments, this square gets its name from the Greek archer who travelled to the west after the Trojan War. Legend has it that he founded the city of Pontevedra, which was greatly assisted subsequently by the nobility, motivated by this legend, to give it greater prestige. The Plaza de O Teucro is surrounded by constructions from the 17th and 18th centuries, such as the Pazo del Marqués de Aranda, the Pazo de San Román and the Pazo de Gago Montenegro, each with its heraldic coat of arms sculpted in stone on the front. This square lies in the midst of many side streets where stone is prominent on the ground and on buildings, and is a major tourist attraction for the city, whether bar-hopping for tapas, enjoying a glass of wine or listening to a little music until the early hours
