The bridge of Achas was the main subject in a battle during the War of Independence between Frenchmen and Spaniards in 1809. The battle lasted for three days and the Spaniards, helped by English troops, won this episode leading to the withdrawal of the French troops of marshal Soult. On the right side of the bridge there is a rock with a plaque in honour of the inhabitants of Achas who fought in this war. The most interesting architectural feature is its rounded arch. The bridge is so narrow that only one car can pass at a time.
