Founded in the 16th century as a link to the Cercio family, although part of its construction seems posterior. It has seven coats of arms of the Castro, Gil, Varela, Gundín, Salgado, Taboada, Deza, Camba and López de Lemos families. The house-tower was restored at the end of the 70s, when it was about to lose its main palatial elements: its coats of arms, its solaina (sun terrace) and its large chimney. This catalog item is named in the “Normas Complementarias y Subsidiarias de Planeamiento provincials” with the name of Pazo dos Castro Piñeiro in the San Tomé valley
