This group of hórreos (traditional raised granaries) is located by the chapel of the Virgen de los Remedios (‘Virgin of the Remedies’), who is said to have been burned by Napoleon’s soldiers. It stands above the rest of the hills in the area, surrounded by farmland and rural houses. The eiras are collections of hórreos normally found on a larger scale in the mountains of O Suído, Candán or Faro de Avión. In most cases they are in towns with adjoining terraced or semi-detached houses, where placing an hórreo next to the home is not possible. These hórreos belong to collective communal spaces and they are used on a rotation basis between neighbours.
