The route starts at O Seixo, next to the Nosa Señora das Angustias chapel. It goes through the heart of Prado, and passes by a huge hórreo (grain store).
After walking through a mixed forest, it arrives to the parish of San Miguel de Castro. Its church has experienced multiple interventions over the centuries, but it still keeps vestiges of Romanesque style on its apse and triumphal arch, which date from before 1115.
The route descends to the Ulla river, running along the riverside through a temperate rainforest. Be careful if you go during the rainy season, as the waters might go over the bend and flood the trail. There is a well-marked point with an arrow that indicates that, 50 metres away from that point, you can enjoy the impressive viewpoint of San Miguel de Castro, which offers views of the bridges of Gundián, the place where the Ulla river creates a beautiful canyon. The route ends with a panoramic view of the Ulla that you can enjoy from the recreational area of San Miguel de Castro.
Before getting to the end of the trail, it is a great idea to ascend to the O Castro lookout to enjoy the panoramic view over the Ulla river and the bridges of Gundián. After the hike, you can go to the recreational area of the Gundián Sanctuary.
