This event was first held in 1974 and was declared a Festival of Tourist Interest in 2013. Celebrated on the third Sunday of May, it has become one of the most important tourist attractions of the municipality of A Estrada. The salmon festival offers other activities, such as a fishing tournament, food tastings, a tapas competition and MTB tours. The fishing reserves of Couso, Sinde and Ximonde have always been the most productive for catching salmon, which is known as the ‘king of the river’.
