Of eclectic style, the Templete de San Luis is one of the works of the important architect Antonio Palacios, who was born in O Porriño. It was designed to be an access to the metro in Gran Vía, Madrid. One of the purposes of the work was to cover a large lift. In the 1970s, it was decided it was no longer needed and the people in charge even thought of destroying it. However, thanks to the intervention of the Madrid College of Architects and the Concello de O Porriño, it was finally moved to his native town.
