The festivity honouring the “Santo Cristo de la Agonía” (Holy Christ of Agony) in Xende takes place on the weekend before Corpus Christi. It is one of the most popular and fervent celebrations of the municipality of A Lama. During the celebration, the penitents lay inside open coffins and are carried around in a procession to ask the Holy Crist for favours.
