This archaeological centre aims to tell the story of the only solar evaporation pond of the entire Roman Empire that has been preserved and turned into a museum. It explores how a saltern worked and how the Romans produced salt from salt pans.
Additionally, the exhibition offers the possibility of discovering the interesting world of salt, its history, some of the ways to obtain it and the different uses the Romans had for this useful product.
The centre is managed by the Sea Museum of Galicia.
