The use of the hot springs of Cuntis dates back to the Roman period. The Romans knew the power of the waters of Cuntis, which is evidenced by the fact that several coins with the images of emperors Nero, Caesar and Augustus were found in the area. The site of Termas de Cuntis consists of the four-star hotels of La Virgen and Castro do Balneario and the spa of Forniños. It is surrounded by beautiful private parks covering an area of 50,000 m2. La Virgen is the most emblematic building of the quiet town of Cuntis. Surrounded by large gardens, it has the typical characteristics of the traditional Galician manor houses and follows the original design of architect Antonio Palacios, although it was entirely restored in 2006 and turned into a modern tourist site with a direct connection to the spa. Castro do Balneario is an old traditional Galician house that has been restored. Each of the eighteen rooms has its own style and offers all the necessary comforts. Termas de Cuntis is a reference in the application of therapeutic techniques using medicinal mineral waters. This is a result of the unique and privileged properties of its waters and the carefully designed and maintained facilities that allow it to take the most advantage of their benefits.
