It is a work made by the French architect based in Vigo, Michel Pacewicz. The project was ordered by José García Barbón in 1904.
It is a French cut eclectic building with a Neo-baroque base of strong symmetry. Its horizontality is highlighted by the balcony that goes around the first and last floor. The stone viewpoints on the second floor also stand out. Its classicist decoration is composed by pilasters with lonic capitals that support an entablature-like skirting board. The individualization by floors, so characteristic of the eclectic style, is almost non-existent in this building.
The ground floor is made of ashlars, with padded pilasters that support the semicircular arches. The building is crowned by a combination of granite parapets and railings. On top of them there are openings ended in curved and parted pediments ornamented with scrolls on the lower sides.
The only difference between the side façade and the main one facing the García Barbón street is the wooden gallery on the first floor.
Currently, it houses the NH Palacio de Vigo Hotel.
