This cemetery is located in the centre of this village popular for its railway viaducts. It was built in the 1830s. It houses sculptures and pantheons of great artistic value, most of them with great eclecticism. Amongst the most remarkable sepulchres are: the one that belongs to the mayor Ramón Pardo Ferro, with a sculpture that represents the blindfolded faith; or the mausoleum of the lawyer Francisco Crespo Rivas, with a pillar crowned by a great pyramid designed in Argentine.
The cemetery of Os Eidos has also a great historic value because it houses a mass grave with the remains of 42 republicans murdered during the Spanish Civil War. Another warlike event like the Peninsular War also left its mark in this graveyard with the tomb of John O’Dogherty, one of the heroes of the Ponte Sampaio battle.
