A work by the sculptor Francisco Leiro to pay tribute to the swimmers’ efforts.
It is a bronze sculpture set formed by several pieces that appear partially submerged. El Salto (The Jump) is the main figure, located in As Avenidas, shows a swimmer about to submerge his arm in a perfect crawl stroke. The second sculpture, in Praza da Estrela, portrays the swimmer already in the water with the marks of his effort visible on his bronze face.
