This festival dates back to the 13th century, when the historic church of San Martiño, patron saint of Moaña, was completed. The neighbourhood of O Cruiceiro becomes the centre of the region featuring ancestral traditions like tastings of wine, the pig slaughter or the magosto (chestnut festival). Visitors can enjoy Galician cuisine to the sound of bagpipes during the event, which was declared a Festival of Tourist Interest in 2013. Its religious services are followed by thousands of people, in which a statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel is highlighted, the only one is Spain to be carved in one piece from an oak tree trunk.
