Church of Neo-Classical style. This temple, made of masonry, is the work of the architect Antonio Cominges and dates from the year 1959. On the outside of the main façade, over the door’s lintel, there is an image of the Our Lady of Fátima and a rose window. On the right side of the church, attached to it, there is a slender tower. Its interior is remarkable because of its great capacity and its altarpiece. This temple has a mosaic in the altarpiece, made by Santiago Padrós Elías. The main mysteries of Cova de Iria are represented on it. In the centre, the Virgin on the holly oak during her apparitions in 1917; on one side, the angel that, a year before, appeared before three shepherd children (Lucía, Francisco and Jacinta) preparing them for their meeting with Our Lady; on the other side, on the bottom of the image, the witnesses; and above, the sun dance phenomenon, that happened on 13th October 1917, and was witnessed by around one hundred thousand people, several thousands of them quite far from there.
