The parish church of San Xoán of Camba was built during the 12th century as a chapel for the masters of the pazo. Initially the Pazo of Camba was built as a defensive fortress and, when it became a house-pazo during the 16th and 17th centuries, the church was also expanded and modified. The most meaningful modification was in 1618, when the church lost its Romanesque portal and got a Baroque bell tower. The sepulchre of Fernando de Camba is located inside. On it you can see the coat of arms won in the Granada war against the Arabs.
