This historic site allows visitors to have a better understanding of rural life and the social structure of the 18th century. This is a place for trading, buying, selling, bargaining, meeting, chatting, tricking, winning, shaking hands, wearing belt pouches and eating polbo á feira (Galician for ‘fair-style octopus’). The stalls are simple, unadorned and practical, built to use comfortably come fair day. The fairground is organised in narrow streets lined around stalls with large counters and long benches. This happy re-enactment created by the market, threatening disappearance in the 70s, allows one to wander the little streets and easily imagine the market when it was very active.
