This museum is located in the parish of Gres, where writer Xosé Neira Vilas was born. His home was a modest rural house inherited by his parents, which was later donated to the Xunta de Galicia, Galicia’s regional government, to be restored and used for cultural purposes.
It houses a public library and an ethnographic museum with more than 300 objects. The restoration was carried out by architect César Portela, and an additional structure was attached to the house to include spaces for functions and exhibitions.
