The pazo de Borza is also known as pazo de Sarmiento because it was owned by that family until the end of the last century. Back then it received perpetual rents and for some of its properties another seventy five Spanish reales per year used to pay the masses in the Rosario chapel of the church. At the end of the last century, A Borza was described as an urban estate with a 2-floor house with a tower on one side and an inner patio. The lands nearby were occupied by vineyards, a dovecote, a wine cellar and a creek called A Borza.
