The pilgrimage of Our Lady of Miracles of Amil remains one of the most important pilgrimages of this year and is one of the most visited of Pontevedra. Thousands of pilgrims from all over Spain are in attendance. The biggest throng arrives in the very early hours of the Sunday morning following the 8th of September, which is the actual day of the pilgrimage. During the well-attended procession that takes place after the high mass, the Virgin covers her gown with the banknotes that the faithful have given as an offering
