This observatory was built by José María López Pérez, an astronomy enthusiast, in 1993. It was the only observatory in Galicia up to 2009, when the construction of the observatory in Forcarei was completed. It still is the only private observatory open for visitors (by appointment).
Situated at a height of 500 metres, it aims to promote astronomy and offers great panoramic views.
