Carril, a parish in the municipality of Vilagarcía, became the terminal of the first railroad in Galicia in 1873 with the Cornes–Carril line. The station now houses the Railway Museum. The museum covers the arrival of the first train to Carril, which completely changed the history of Vilagarcía de Arousa. Additionally, there are scale models and interactive games promoting the conservation and restoration of the cultural heritage of the railway.
