Most of this former collegiate church dates from the 16th century, although many think it is actually a century older than that. It was raised to the rank of collegiate church by Pope Paul III. It has a Latin-cross plan and a nave separated from the aisles by colonnades of Ionic columns. The nave is covered by sexpartite Gothic rib vaults, while the vaults covering the aisles are quadripartite. The ribs are decorated in the flamboyant Gothic style. Additionally, the altarpiece behind the high altar is Baroque and dates from 1744. Finally, the church’s facade is an excellent example of Renaissance architecture in Galicia. The pediment is decorated with biblical themes and above the only entrance there is a large rose window, with an 18th-century tower to the right.
