Also known as ‘Park of the Senses’, this small peaceful garden is located in the town centre of Marín. It is an ideal place for children, as it has many playgrounds and plenty of room to play next to a lake.
The park used to be owned by monks from Oseira and was known as the ‘Coastal Farm’. It became private property after the ecclesiastical confiscations of the 19th century and was acquired by Roberto Munaiz. He built a residence there called ‘Villa Paula’. In 1942 one of his heirs, Ana Mª Saraiva Munaiz, who was married to Marcelino Briz, decided to build the family’s summer residence there. It began to be known as the ‘Briz Farm’ and became a meeting point for many important figures of the time: soldiers, politicians, businessmen, local personalities... The farm was acquired by the Council of Marín in 1999 with the aim of opening it to the public and using it for social purposes.
