This centre is located in the protected area of Cabo Udra, which is part of the Natura 2000 network and has been declared a Site of Community Importance. It was awarded Blue Flag status for its environmental education relating to the coastal zone and sustainable development highlighting the biological value of the site.
It aims to rediscover the natural, cultural, marine and land resources of the headland thought exhibitions and cultural activities. Additionally, the centre uses clean and renewable energy, provided by a wind turbine and solar thermal and photovoltaic panels.
