Pazo Quintáns

The Pazo de Torres de Quintáns, also known as Pazo de Quintáns, is located in the village of Quintáns, in the municipality of Meis.

This historic manor complex has been associated with several Galician families and lineages over the centuries. The history of the house is linked to Juan de Balboa y Mariño de Lobeira, regarded as the founder of the estate, and to his descendants. The different families associated with the pazo left their mark in the heraldic elements that can still be seen throughout the property.

Over the course of its history, the pazo was connected with several families. Among its residents were María Concepción Armada y Losada, daughter of the 10th Marchioness of Figueroa, and her husband, university professor Ramón Gutiérrez de la Peña y Quiroga.

In addition to the main building, the property preserves several structures associated with its former residential and agricultural uses, including the former caretaker's house and winepress, two traditional granaries, a chapel, a stone cross and a well.

After a prolonged period of neglect, the Torres de Quintáns underwent restoration work aimed at recovering part of the historic complex.

Pazo de Quintáns is an interesting example of Galician manor architecture and bears witness to the history of the families and lineages associated with the O Salnés region.
