The Integral System of Spanish Tourism Quality in Destinations (SICTED) aims to improve the experience of tourists in a destination. It is a project of the Secretary of State for Tourism, to which the Pontevedra Provincial Council is adhered through the destination Rías Baixas-Pontevedra province. 

The SICTED seal values and accredits the quality of a total of 37 types of tourist services, which are thus recognised for their efforts and commitment to quality. In the same way, it represents a competitive advantage and differentiation compared to other agents in the sector.

Thus, the Tourism Quality Commitment label seeks to promote a homogeneous level of quality in the services offered by a single destination to tourists, so that they have an overall perception and satisfaction of the various agents that make it up.

This award is an opportunity to consolidate the Rías Baixas destination as a benchmark in tourism quality and to improve the positioning of the destination itself and the services it offers.

Currently, more than three hundred companies in the province of Pontevedra have been recognised by SICTED since the first accreditation, received in 2006.

The Tourism Quality Commitment label is valid for two years, subject to an annual follow-up evaluation and the passing of complete evaluations. In order to obtain it, the tourist company or service must obtain a positive evaluation of the requirements set.

Firstly, the tourist agent concerned must carry out its activity in the Rías Baixas-Pontevedra province destination, except for tourist companies or services belonging to the following municipalities:

• Baiona, a destination that has its own management body.
• Sanxenxo, a destination with its own managing body 
• Agolada, integrated in the destination Terras de Pontevedra Norte-Deza-Tabeirós
• Vila de Cruces, integrated in the destination Terras de Pontevedra Norte-Deza-Tabeirós
• Rodeiro, integrated in the destination Terras de Pontevedra Norte-Deza-Tabeirós
• Silleda, integrated in the destination Terras de Pontevedra Norte-Deza-Tabeirós
• Lalín, integrated in the destination Terras de Pontevedra Norte-Deza-Tabeirós
• Dozón, integrated in the destination Terras de Pontevedra Norte-Deza-Tabeirós
• Forcarei, integrated in the destination Terras de Pontevedra Norte-Deza-Tabeirós
• A Estrada, integrated in the destination Terras de Pontevedra Norte-Deza-Tabeirós
• Ponteareas, integrated in the destination Terras do Condado-A Paradanta
• Mondariz, integrated in the destination Terras do Condado-A Paradanta
• Mondariz-Balneario, integrated in the destination Terras do Condado-A Paradanta
• Arbo, integrated in the destination Terras do Condado-A Paradanta
• A Cañiza, integrated in the destination Terras do Condado-A Paradanta
• As Neves, integrated in the destination Terras do Condado-A Paradanta
• Covelo, integrated in the destination Terras do Condado-A Paradanta
• Crecente, integrated in the destination Terras do Condado-A Paradanta
• Salvaterra de Miño, integrated in the destination Terras do Condado-A Paradanta
• Salceda de Caselas, integrated in the destination Terras do Condado-A Paradanta.

On the other hand, the service provided by the agent must be able to be included in one of the 37 trades endorsed by this commitment. Interested companies must complete a membership application form, available through the official website of SICTED or the Tourism Service of the Diputación de Pontevedra.

The Pontevedra Provincial Council offers participating companies and tourist services a project of advice and continuous training which is complemented by the analysis of compliance with the required quality standards and the proposal of possible improvements with a view to obtaining, completely free of charge, the Tourist Quality Commitment label.

In addition to these benefits, the integration in the various promotional campaigns promoted within the framework of this programme, among which are:

• Advertising inserts
• Dissemination through social networks
• Presence in reference portals of the tourism sector, such as www.calidadendestino.es and the Rías Baixas Tourism website.
• Event for the presentation of accreditation diplomas
