As Rías Baixas wall to wall

A perfect option that combines fun, adrenaline and outdoor tourism.

Tourism and sport provoke similar sensations: they put you to the test, force you to overcome stages and require preparation and planning to ensure success. More and more travellers are combining both activities and exercising while discovering unknown natural landscapes.

Climbing and canyoning are two very appealing options that can also be enjoyed with the family, as long as the right areas are chosen. In As Rías Baixas there are several companies that organise routes with specialised guides and make it easy to practise this activity that combines fun, adrenaline and tourism.

Come and enjoy the province from a new point of view. All you will need is comfortable, tight-fitting clothing to get around in a harness, in the case of climbing, and comfortable footwear to move along a wall without any problems of grip and in complete safety. The key point in these sports is to have a team to accompany you.

Beginners and professionals alike will find experienced companies in the province that provide the necessary materials and resources to experiment on outdoor walls. The mountains of Silleda, O Porriño or Vigo and unique coastlines such as the Costa da Vela will be some of the views you will take home as a souvenir if you dare to climb in As Rías Baixas.

Beginners and professionals alike will find experienced companies in the province to practice climbing on outdoor walls.

In the case of canyoning, one of its meccas is in Ponte Caldelas, in the Verdugo river canyon, one of the most complete canyons in Galicia, with a three-kilometre route that includes three waterfalls, rapids and pools of crystal-clear water. Further south in the province we find the Luneda canyon, in A Cañiza. The route follows the course of a tributary of the river Deva and allows you to see several waterfalls in a setting of great beauty. It has rappels, jumps, rapids and a beautiful slide, suitable for beginners in the practice of canyoning.

And we continue descending towards the south of the province to discover the Rego da Cal ravine, in the municipality of O Rosal. This route starts near the mills of O Folón and O Picón and runs along a tributary of the river Tamuxe. It is considered to be of medium level and includes several simple abseils, some jumps and natural slides over a distance of 2 kilometres.

Finally, you can also go canyoning with guides on the Almofrei river, in Cotobade, and on the Cadavosa river, in Cerdedo. In both cases these are family routes, which can be done with children from 10 years of age.
