If you visit the lands of Deza and, of course, the municipality of Vila de Cruces, you have to try its famous galo de curral or free-range chicken, an animal raised outdoors and fed with cereals. This dish can be paired with a glass of wine of the Designation of Origin Rías Baixas, sub-area of Ribeira do Ulla.

This monastery was founded by the counts of Deza in the first half of the 10th century, although its preserved remains date from the second half of the 12th century. In the central apse, there are some interesting 16th century frescos, which were found some years ago, after moving away a Baroque altarpiece that was hiding them.
