The film Hunger for Experiences, aimed at promoting the province of Pontevedra destination in 2019, has received fourteen international awards so far, after winning a new one at the Japan World's Tourism Film Festival in Kyoto. “If it was already a source of pride to be one of the 68 finalists among a total of 1,327 participants, having obtained this award, competing with destinations such as Australia, Greece, Thailand, Bali or Japan, is exceptional news", the president of the Deputación de Pontevedra, Carmela Silva, highlighted.
The Japan World's Tourism Film Festival Award is the first one obtained by Hunger for Experiences in 2021, after winning 13 prizes at festivals held in New York, Turkey, Bulgaria, Latvia, Berlin, Los Angeles, Serbia, Greece, Portugal and Croatia in 2020. Moreover, last year this film won the World’s Best Tourism FIlm “Oscar” at the World's Best Tourism Film Awards held in Vienna. The award ceremony took place online from Kyoto, due to the health crisis, and included 68 destinations selected among the 1,327 promotional videos from all over the world that participated in the competition. The Deputación's video won the second prize in the Gastronomic Tourism category and, together with Conil de la Frontera and Madrid, was one of the only three Spanish destinations to win awards at the festival held in Japan.
The Deputación de Pontevedra, through Hunger for Experiences, produced by Esmerarte, pays tribute to the producers of the province, to all the people who are producing and supplying the excellent raw materials that are the basis of the renowned gastronomy of As Rías Baixas.
