Museo de Pontevedra - edificio Sarmiento
This building was created between 1685 and 1714 to be the main school building of the Compañía de Jesús School. It has been part of the Museum of Pontevedra since 1981.
It was restored and today it houses archaeological artefacts from prehistory and antiquity in its permanent exhibition rooms and cloister, as well as medieval Galician art from before the 13th century, collections of Sargadelos pottery, ceramics from Pontecesures and a selection of the most representative national pottery workshops: Manises, Paterna, Seville, Toledo and Talavera, as well as a collection of contemporary and Eastern art donated by Sánchez Mesas-Fernández de Tejada.
