Sendero de San Xusto PRG-29
San Xurxo de Sacos (Cotobade)36121 Cerdedo - CotobadePontevedra
The San Xusto trail, PRG-29, runs, for most of its route, over old stone-paved roads and country lanes. The vegetation is extraordinarily rich: river-bank woods and some copses of native deciduous trees. You'll see many English oaks, chestnuts, birches and pines, as well as areas of dense vegetation (ferns, creepers and moss) along the banks of the River Lérez and other small brooks. Along the route, you'll pass eight mills, four in Baños de San Xusto, two in San Xurxo, one in Cutián and the muíño do Medo. The route starts at the chapel of San Xusto, and descends to the San Xusto baths. You'll follow the River Lérez to Ponte Nova where you'll cross. At this point, you could return through Cutián to make it a circular route back to your starting point, or go on and cross to Fentáns, where you can admire the petrogyphs carved by artists between three and four thousand years ago. (Laxe das Ferraduras, Laxe dos Cebros, Coto do Rapadoiro and other places)
